With Love Wednesday: Christmas Gifts

With Love Wednesday

With Love Wednesday this week features "Christmas Gifts" that we loved to give or the ones we received. People have practiced "giving" during Christmas as we remember the birth of Jesus who gave us his life that saved mankind, the most important gift that nothing can ever replace. The first gift-giving occurred in the Bible in Matthew 2:11b "Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh." Just an important note by the way, no three kings mentioned in the Bible :)

Anyway, the gift that I loved the most is from hubby. He knows what I want. Coz I told him hehe :D

Among all the gifts I gave, I love this the most. A new bible for hubby. We share with one Bible since he lost mine. I want him to have his own so he can bring it anywhere with him. I love giving this also because I bought it using my blogging money ;D

Still the best gift I received this Christmas was LOVE from family and friends. Gift-giving is just one way of expressing our love.

The theme next week is "Noche Buena or Media Noche." Talk about what you love the most about the holidays. You may choose one from the two celebrations or pick both. Happy day!

Mommy Moments: Christmas Moments

mommy moments

My kids just love it to have their cousins from my side of the family in our house for Christmas. They long for these times because they don't always get to be with them.

The Car Connection

I know you've heard about "rainbow connection," but have you heard about The Car Connection? :D Anyway, the guys, that's my hubby and his twin bro had a chance to see each other again during Christmas of course. And you know the usual topic of these guys. It could be about work, software, new movies, kids, marriage and their topic earlier was about CARS. The twin bro was showing hubby on the net, the car that he's eyeing on. I should have shown them the ford flex pics but it's only now that I have seen this website about car reviews. Looking at the photos make me say W-O-W! It's like seeing the cars come to life through the images. You may see the exterior and interior features of the car through a slideshow. Dashboard highlights are also shown in the slideshow. The overall rating of the Ford Flex is 8.8 out of 10. You may read through what the helpful and interesting reviews say. If you're considering Nissan car then you should look at the nissan versa specs for 2010.

The mercury is also one of the cars featured in the car connection website. Experts at the website have a first-hand opinion and rating because they're given a chance to road-test the cars themselves including the Mercury Mariner. When I read reviews, I like looking at the pictures of the products and the car connection has lots of it in their gallery. The Mariner has specific original exterior styling and added features which makes it a bit more upscale than its counterparts, the Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute 2005.

Now if you're like Luigi from the Cars movie, "following only the ferrari," then you shold look at it at the car connection. It's a luxury car and I definitely would just love looking at the nice gallery :D It's really salivating to see the photos. The car connection website is a good resource if purchasing a car is your next project. With that amount of money, you definitely would want to choose the best ;D

With Love Wednesday: Friends Forever

With Love Wednesday

No one could live alone in this world. We need people, we need friends to support us, to love us. To tell us if we're wrong. To criticize our clothes if they don't match or don't fit well. It says in the Proverbs 27:6 - "Wounds from a friend can be trusted..."Sometimes, what they say may hurt us but most often than not, we need to hear it coz that's the truth. Reality bites.

college friends. we're incomplete here. looks like really decades ago LOL. I miss these gayz!

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: Alvin and the Chipmunks

It's my first time to join. I've had several attempts though. But sadly I wasn't able to because of the internet connection problem. So I'm glad I made it today.

This week's theme is about "A Merry Christmas Movie." The first thing that came to my mind was Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie of 2007. It's one of my kids' favorites. They keep laughing on certain scenes like it's always their first time to see it. Actually, the same with the mommy :D The movie tells that Christmas is not about material things or fame but the togetherness of the family that's important during the season.
Here's the theme song "Christmas Don't Be Late" and some of the photos from the movie.

Everytime I hear the chipmunks, I feel like Christmas is just around the corner.

Hubby's Christmas Gift

When we're at the mall last week, hubby suddenly told me to go to Guess and pick anything as his gift for me. I was hesitant for a second coz I was thinking what do I really want for a gift. So I told him let's go to Levi's instead. You thought I'd want to go to the phone shops? Not bad too :D Whatever it would be I wanted something out of his own careful thought. But I grabbed the opportunity since I was raving for Levi's jeans :D I guess I forgot my fashion sense when I got married. But I became more into gadgets then and learned to check reviews of phones.
Going back, sadly, there's no available size for me. It's either too tight or too big. If I'm lucky we'd have time to check out Makati outlets. An idea came to mind this morning when hubby's giving me the money for the jeans. His gift for me, I'll be the one to buy. Weird isn't it? Anyway, I gave him back the money and told him to be the one to buy it. He works in Makati and he can make way to stop by at the malls. I gave him my size and the style and he definitely knows a good color. I reminded him to have it gift wrapped :D At least, he's still the one who bought it himself :D

But you know, before that idea came to me, I told him to go to the mobile phone shops and instead buy himself a phone. I was upset this morning last night when he went home late without letting me know where he was. A superior in his office invited them home for dinner and drinks. Those things are fine with me coz I know that he doesn't really drink. I just don't want to get paranoid thinking of what could have happened to him. Maybe it's hassle for him to be borrowing a phone to text me. This was for the second time already so I thought a phone is necessary especially at those times. He wants an Apple I-phone and it's impossible for me to be able to have one for him at this time. But I'm confident he'll be happy whatever I'd have for him on Christmas.

PBW: Church Christmas Party

Photobucket

We had our Church Christmas Party last Sunday in Villa Caragan Pansol, Laguna. It's a rented private pool so we had the place all to ourselves.

Winter needed warming up.

The communion service commenced the full packed day. Followed by the confirmation of restoration of Marlon and Laarni to the church.

Game Time!

A bottle-fed baby Jesus? :D The "Amazing Aloha!" group won the game.

And then came silence :D

Presentation per "Bible-Talk" Group

We interpreted the song "You Raise Me Up" segway to - YES, our hubbies dancing to the tune of "Pearly Shells" with matching flowers on the ears :D The singles danced too, I forgot the title of the song. With only two choices to choose from, we won the presentation :D

Not only Metro Manila Film Fest are giving awards during the season.

Michael Jackson: This Is It

We're watching "This Is It" right now. Michael Jackson is still as good as when he was younger. I forgot that he's already fifty during his literally final rehearsal. The dancing, his voice...I should say that the concert would have been really really awesome! Coz he's so amazing on stage and to think this was still a rehearsal. The title really says it. At the same time, for a fifty I'm thinking maybe he needed to take medicines for him to be able to move and have that kind of endurance to the tiring, long hours of practice. But definitely not a tummy tuck. In the video, you will see how people do their best to make the concert production perfect. I noticed that Michael Jackson always has his say how he wants the beat go, the timing, the moves or even criticize himself when his voice cracks. The final rehearsals were MJ's last performances. He performed to his audience - the back-up singers, dancers, choreographers, musicians, cameramen, directors, production staff. I'm not an MJ avid fan but I can personally say that no one can replace what he's done and what he was in the music industry. He's inspired lots of people big and small. He's a legend. His voice, his moves, he's the only one who has that. He's the only Michael Jackson.

Six Days To Go

Only six days before Christmas. We haven't talked about our plan for the holidays. Where to spend Christmas Eve, the Christmas Day or even the food to prepare. We've yet to buy gifts also. We'll be one of the people rushing to buy Christmas gifts in the mall later. They'll just be for the kids and chosen nieces and nephews since we have a limited budget. Actually, most of those nieces and nephews are at the same time our godchildren so gifts are expected from us :) Honestly, apart from the gifts I have things in mind I want to buy. And when I think about it, I think I'll be torn between buying gifts or those things for the home. We need a native curtain for one of the windows coz the heat of the sun fills the living room during the whole afternoon. Also I want to have a comforter set coz nothing beats snuggling up in beds in the cold lazy morning. Maybe a new bedsheet and pillow cover set would do if budget and time won't permit. It's good we only have one kid in tow today coz my inlaws took with them Kuya Zach when they went home last night. Oh, now I miss him!

Mommy Moments: Favorite Entries

mommy moments

I have two favorites among the Mommy Moments entries that I made. Sorry Chris! Your description is to pick one but these two equally hold a special place in my heart.

First Picture

I love this Mommy Moment entry because it brings back lots of different memories - my fearful and yet victorious birth experiences (I remembered I haven't told the whole story yet), my first time holding my own baby, my second time being a mom, the significant faces of my newborns and more. There are also lots of emotions I felt when those pictures were taken that will be remembered everytime I see them.

Sentimental

I'm naturally a sentimental person. The photos in this post make me feel sentimental. Breastfeeding brought me hardships, sickness, tiredness, boredom but yes the memory of breastfeeding my baby is sentimental for me now.

Thank you for hosting this meme Chris! Mommy Moments has been a significant part of my blog.

With Love Wednesday: Home

With Love Wednesday

I love Wednesdays because it's time to share about the things we love here on With Love Wednesday!

This week's theme is Home. I love being at home. It's a place where I can be myself and do anything I want to do. This is the only place where I don't care about putting on my lipstick.

Just got up the bed

Me and Mama at the back door when they visited last month.

I love every part of our house. It's not big or fully adorned but I can truly say it's a home sweet home.

Do you have anything to share about your home? Add your name to the linky below so we can visit your blog post. Thanksie! And I hope you enjoy this week's theme.

PBW: All Women Get-Together

Photobucket

We've been thinking of giving encouragement and as well a bonding time for the married women in the church. After much thought and even though we knew that this is a hectic month, I and Rachel, the masterminds of this event, pushed through with the "All Women Get-Together" before the year ends. We had it last Sunday in our house.

Since we all came from church, all were anticipating lunch. We had skewered chicken, palabok from Goldi, Rachel's Buko Pandan, juice and iced tea. My hands and mouth were busy that's why I totally forgot to take a picture of our lunch =D

Watching New Moon

Some are more interested in baking Chocolate Chip Cookies and Polvoron making with Ate Alice.

Playing Icebreaker (Part2). I didn't know this game could be as intense. The question I picked was "What is it that you've been wanting to tell someone in the group?" There's no way but to be open so I got my eyes wet and Rachel's...and the others' too hehe. What I really wanted to tell Rachel was my love for her and admiration for her zeal for God and her love for the disciples. But I also had a bad heart that I felt for her so recently so I expressed that up first. It felt good to have been open and get resolved. Whew!

All women daw pero ang mga husbands namin andon din sa tabi-tabi ;)

1st row L - R: Madel, Winter and Me, Laarni, Ate Leony, Rachel

At the end, it was decided that we'll have this kind of event for all the women (this was invitational due to a small venue) every month. Next stop is Cecile's house in San Pedro since we discovered from the Icebreaker that she loves organizing and spearheading events especially feeding programs. I'm excited! From the finished product of cookies 'n cream polvoron and choco chip cookies, we realized that we could learn more recipes and crafts during our get-togethers and use such for fundraising projects for church events.

Was plastered that night but I really enjoyed the day especially the Icebreaker part.
