Heartifying Is Undergoing Maintenance

I asked you earlier to go to my other blog for the full video of the romantic engagement proposal. But now I'm telling you not to go there coz it's undergoing maintenance. We're having a new hosting for it ;D

I repeat.

Don't go to my other blog coz it's under construction.

If you're posting for With Love Wednesday, please leave me a comment after this post so I can visit your entry.

Give us 3 days and we'll be back.
Thanks a lot!

Boracay Underwater Wedding Proposal

I thought the guy will pop the ring amidst the school of fish. But it was more surprising and sweet that the ring was kept in a treasure chest hidden under the corals.

So heartmelting....waaaahhhh.

Full video in my other blog.

We'll hit Boracay shores in August, yeh yeh :D :D

A Very Special Digital Heart

Medical technology has not taken for granted the use of information technology for the best medical correspondence. I'm personally grateful for this life-saving device.

The best medical information available in an emergency situation is very important for Doctors and Emergency Medical Technicians to be able to give the best treatment. When a patient is unconscious it is very hard for doctors and EMTs to get the most reliable information in the absence of relatives. Critical treatment could be delayed without reliable detailed information, which could mean the difference between life or death.

I have chanced upon a very special heart and globe that you can wear as a necklace or use as a keychain for men. What's so special about this heart is that it contains your detailed Personal Health Record and other vital information. And for a person like me who has chronic heart illness, this is a very helpful tool in times of emergency or even just regular visits to the doctor. Inside the heart or the globe is also a mini compartment where you can put your emergency medicine which looks like this:

It's lovely and life-saving at the same time. I want to save money for such a wonderful device.

Your family's PHR can also be encoded here like your children's vaccination records, a copy of birth certificates and the following crucial information:

* pictures – for identification
* medications – also includes over-the-counter supplements that doctors need to know
* allergies – like drug, food or environmental
* medical conditions - like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure
* medical devices or implants, such as joint replacements, pacemakers, shunts
* emergency contacts - who do you want called first in an emergency?
* doctors’ contact information
* advanced directives – like a living will or power of attorney
* insurance information – you know how important that can be

In an emergency, these are the life-saving details readily available to physicians and EMTs when they plug the very special heart or globe to the computer.

With the easiest access to a digital health record, there's no problem dealing with incomplete or incorrect medical information, which may lead to redundant tests, increased medical costs or serious medical mistakes.

List In My Head

  • scout for Zach's school. Have been excited to do this since last week but hubby's been caught up with work even on Saturdays. And today he's (and sis) 2nd shooter for his office mate's wedding. I'm thinking of inviting my friend to go with me instead. Imagine us going around with 3 kids in tow. That'll be uuhhmm...fun!? :D
  • inquire for Taekwondo or any summer activity for Zach (and hope it fits our budget)
  • fold the clean clothes
  • fold more clothes (there are things that you just don't like doing right?)
  • wipe the windows and window panes
    • get a haircut and a pedicure (Ppfffllleeeeaaazzzee frity fliz)
    • help Zach to practice writing everyday and review until +2
    • new and exciting themes for With Love Wednesday
If funeral insurance quotes knock my head, it'll be way down in my list.

    Rock Revival

It's either my pants shrunk or I grew some fats. It doesn't show but I feel tighter on my legs when I wear my skinny. Don't tell me I need to exchange them for a new pair soon. Those are my favorite! A gift from hubby last Christmas 2009. I just love the cut and how it fits me. It took lots of visit to the mall/s, tryings and fittings before I got hold of a perfect-for-me kind of jeans. The thought of seeing it untouched everytime I open the cabinet would be very sad.

A Rock Revival would surely lighten up my face. The design is like classic meets new funky style. So you're always up to date. You know, rock never dies. Rock rules! It surely pumps up your wardrobe.

If ever I put on some more weight, I hope my favorite pair of jeans would still fit me. Unless a Rock Revival just comes a landing on my lap.

    Mommy Moments: Red!

I noticed there's lots of things in red at Cosmic Zone like red slides and stairs. Here are some...

    Gabe on the Hyperslide.

Kuya Zach inside the Apollo Climber.

Batman and Robin eating red spag and hotdog on stick.

    I'm in red too :D

I don't prefer red on Zach coz he's dark but the color suits Gabe well.

    Kuya's sidekick.

Join us on a reddish week on Mommy Moments!

    Channel On Demand

    Ondemand
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Charter. All opinions are 100% mine.

Glee 2nd Season has already started airing. And I didn't know it until I chanced upon the schedule of airing every Wednesday 8PM on ETC. That was 10PM. Gosh! I kept awake until 2AM  to watch the replay. It's gleeful! Just don't know if I've missed an episode already.

Hey! You may not know it but you might just have Charter digital, which means you have On Demand. Check out your provider. If you do, you're lucky coz it's free. You can learn more at charter.net/ondemand.

You can follow Jack Bauer in 24 or your favorite movie anytime you want. No more keeping awake until midnight. No more waiting until next week. Hey if I have On Demand, I can watch any Glee episodes that missed in my most convenient time for free! How sweet! Busy mom I am. But I need to have some time for myself too with my favorite series. Sometimes, I even need to argue with my son over what to watch. With On Demand, they can watch whatever they want (as long as it's wholesome :D) coz you know you can catch the show of your choice.

I know you're busy too. Who's not? There's no need to go out of your home. You can watch a movie in the comfort of your own couch. DVDs take so long to come out in video stores. You don't have to wait and keep your hands itching on that great movie. You have access to your favorite movie in your TV's remote control.

And with the latest trends, there are hundreds of movies and shows in HD. You can get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page if you want to keep up on the latest.

    Silence Speaks

    Psalm 19

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

    1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.                                                        image source
    2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.

4 Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.

When you look at the sky, aren't you in awe of the cotton-ball clouds and the big blue sky? At night, aren't you amazed of the beauty of the twinkling stars?

I am in awe of God's beautiful works. I'm one of those people who feel more connected to God when I see His beautiful creations.

He has really displayed His greatness through the skies. That even the geniuses were so curious. They never stopped and discovered that the star that you see beside the moon is not actually a star but the Planet Venus (not a latest discovery). And the more they study about the universe and the galaxies, the more there is to study about the Creation. Coz God's creation is infinite. Because God is infinite.

Do you know why God shows His greatness through His creations?

So that the people in the farthest corners of the earth, the people who won't be able to hear or read or be reached by God's word will believe that there is God.

God is so big. And yet He's so personal to each one of us. This will only be realized when you stop and go into silence.

Look at how peaceful the baby sleeps.

Stop and look at the sky tonight. Just simply thank Him for the many things in your life.

Try to stop for a while. God's voice is only heard in the silence.

    Plants Vs. Zombies

Hubby was helping our neighbor get their LCD TV hooked up with their computer. Then our neighbor's kid introduced the game Plants vs. Zombies to Zach.

Zach began playing after the daddy downloaded the game. Dd was teaching Zach through the game. And this is what I overheard while I was cooking dinner.

Dd: SUN! SUN! SUN! SUN! SUN!
    Zach: SUN! SUN! SUN!
    Dd: Peas!......Sunflower!
    Zach: Cherrybomb! Boom! hahahaha!
Dd: Ay, you're not following e! More Zombies are coming later!

2:30 AM Gabe's asking for milk so I woke up and saw the Dd playing level 45 already. tsk tsk tsk. Addict!

    Pppfftt!

No EK! So no kwento to share. :P

It was cancelled for some reasons. I suppose my PILs are tired already from their earlier appointments so they decided to cancel the date and instead stay at SILs house in Dasma.  We didn't go either coz the car is not that ok to be brought farther than nearby. hehe!

Good for hubby, he had his deserved sleep coz he worked overnight last Friday.

Weekend was spent in the house. Had our grocery Saturday night and Sunday morning at church.

    EK Biki Waterworld

We'll be going to EK today. Late na noh! So I expect swarm of people there later. The MILs are attending to appointments so we need to wait for them. Got lucky, BIL has tickets to spare. We'll get a glimpse of their new attraction, the Biki Waterworld. Literally just a glimpse coz Biki Waterworld is a separate entrance fee.

This Waterworld is from BiKiWorld of South Korea who have agreed to set-up the first world-class inflatable water park in the Philippines.

It has a variety of six giant inflatable pools with giant slides, games and rides that families can enjoy in a safe water environment.

Biki Waterworld is open from April 3 until June 6, 2010, Mondays-Fridays from 2PM to 9PM and Saturdays to Sundays from 11AM to 9PM with Fireworks Display at 8PM.

For more details, you may call 584-3535 or 584-4326 to 29.

    Kwento later!

    Regency Beauty Institute

When I attend parties I'd just powder, blush and put on my red lipstick. My hair would just be left so with a little gel to tame the springing tiny strands up there.

The teens of this time know how to beautify themselves on their own already like my niece who just had their Juniors-Seniors Prom. As if she has studied in the fastest growing beauty schools in the United States like this cosmetology school in Minnesota. Students who came from Regency Beauty Institute are sought after and recognized throughout the U.S. I would immediately accept if there's a discounted salon service by one of their students as part of their training. It's a high-quality service under the supervision of an expert faculty so there's no need to worry.

    Mommy Moments: Yellow!

Joining other excited moms here on Mommy Moments. Here's my share on this week's Yellow Theme.

I didn't expect I could find yellow thingies in our photos. I had fun looking.

Gabe is wearing yellow sweatshirt eating a yellow banana during our Christmas party/outing last December 2009. And riding on a big yellow bear in Robinson's Tagaytay last January 1.

Here's Kuya Zach on a yellow ride and in a rocking bus also last Jan.1, 2010. Nakikisali pa si mommy sa pic :D And then eating sweet corn one of those days.

    Loud Launch: Is this Legit?

I'm quite doubtful if Loud Launch is a legit blog advertising or marketing affiliate. I received an email yesterday that this blog was approved. My application was 2 yrs. ago so I was happy to hear about that. I was happier when I logged in to my account and I have a $10.31 opportunity waiting. It was for a resort company and when I googled (there's no link to the advertiser website), the site looks good so I was excited to do the write-up. Their process of taking an opportunity is different coz you need to write your post in a box provided in their site and then you'll wait for it to get approved before you publish it in your blog. I'm beginning to be hesitant while I was finishing the write-up coz there's no link to the advertiser indicated and the price they're paying me is higher than I usually get for a first-timer in their system. So while I was in the middle of writing, I googled loud launch to see any comments. There were comments from bloggers that they got paid by Loud Launch and it pays higher than other third parties but opportunities are not that frequent. Bad comments are more from advertisers saying that their expectations of gaining more traffic were not met. I continued to submit my 200+ words article as if it was enough for me to know that bloggers were paid right.

This morning I received an email from Loud Launch with a subject Post URL Not Found. The email says:

"Recently you reserved a post for the Campaign entitled 'Breezes family vacations'.

Unfortunately LoudLaunch was unable to find the post at the URL link you provided. As a result, your reservation for this campaign has been removed.
If you would like to reserve a post with this campaign please log onto http://www.loudlaunch.com and select the 'Live Campaigns' tab.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that a post opportunity will still exist for this campaign. However, there may be other campaigns that you may be interested
    in."

I logged-in to my Loud Launch account and true enough the opportunity is nowhere to be found. I felt really doubtful coz I haven't provided any URL link for the post coz they didn't ask me for it. So now I feel that Loud Launch is a scam and that they will just use my article. What do you think? Do you have any experience with Loud Launch?

    Gold's Value

Gold has always been a good investment. Its value rather increases as the dollar depreciates. Even though current times show that dollar rates decline, still, gold is holding up great with other commodities such as oil. If you could buy gold bullion, you're on the right path in investments.

I wasn’t interested in gold before. I wasn’t educated about its value. I thought that when my mother wears gold jewelries, it’s just for ornamental and aesthetics purposes. I thought that people who wear gold are just bragging about their status in life. Well, yeah they’re bragging. Coz owning gold means having rich and wise investments.

    The Cosmic Kidz

I knew from when SIL texted me about a playdate at Cosmic Kidz that it's going to be fun. They played inside from 10:30 AM to 5PM, maximizing the unlimited ticket that tita bought for them. Rates is at P480 each unlimited. Their only break was when we had lunch at KR's.

It's good that they were in early. Lots of kids came in after lunch but still not enough to fill the 4 levels of the playplace.

Dani's favorite is the Hyper Slide. You need to be a little careful coz it's steep.

Zach had a blast in the Wormhole. I can't count how many times he slid down in it.

    Gabe loved the Gaming Cannons.

The three kids were all plastered as we left Cosmic Kidz. But they sure had soooo muuuuch funnnn!

    Mommy Moments: Shoes!

This pair of shoes was handed-down to Gabe by hubby's cousin's son. It has a red version which he now often wears coz the black ones are small already. I just can't find a descent photo of it. He oftentimes fetches the shoes by himself when he knows that we'll go out.

These shoes has been Zach's favorite eversince we bought them last year. It's sturdy enough for those busy feet. They're the only shoes that lasted quite long.

Check out some more cute kids' shoes at Mommy Moments!

    Homeschooling Not

We were on and off in our decision to homeschool Zach or go to a regular school. But we've finally decided after a year of contemplation to enroll him to a regular school.

The thought of me being his teacher in a homeschooling set-up is great. We like the idea that I and his daddy would be his major influence aside from the children's ministry every Sunday. He doesn't have to go through the stress of going to school everyday then do some more assignments at home. The money we save from school bus and uniform expenses will be spent for family field trips and bondings. He could also engage in other activities that interests him like painting or sports to encourage socialization. He'll learn independence together with forming good study habits.

There's been bickering with getting him started and getting him focused almost all the time with our Kumon study sessions. How much more when we go homeschooling with not only one but several subjects to tackle. Not to mention the chores and another high-spirited 2-yr old boy to look after to. We didn't enroll him to Kumon starting this April coz there's been lots of crying and impatience from both of us.

As I talked to several mothers whose children are going to regular school, I realized that the school is a training ground for more pressures of work and adult life. Coz he needs to face the world eventually when he grows older.

Honestly, I'm quite sad that I won't be able to homeschool my son. Recently, in our church's Geographic Region Family Day, I had an unexpected talk with a homeschooling mom and she understood how hard it would be for our situation. I'm thankful for that talk relieved my feelings of guilt of selfishness.

Homeschooling is really ideal especially for kids with stay-at-home-moms. So if you just can, consider homeschooling your kids.

    Avid Basketball Fan

My nephew is staying here for summer vacation. I was worried at first coz he might get bored as he only have Zach and Gabe to play with unlike in their place that his cousins and friends, nearly the same age as his, are just around their area. And so I was glad when we're watching "How To Train A Dragon," he said that it's not boring here in our place coz there's movies, tv, internet, and the basketball court is just a few steps away. seems we're thinking the same.

He's always the last person to sleep, watching Basketball TV every night. He's so thrilled that there's basketball games 24 hours a day on tv. He's really into basketball so much. I'm just not sure if his being a basketball fan would take him as far as basketball betting when he becomes of legal age.

    Photoless

My blogs will be photoless for an indefinite time. Hubby swapped the D40 to a higher end camera but the problem is it has no lens yet, so it's still useless.

I suspect lots of events will be missed coz I'm not sure when could we afford to buy a high-end lens kit. Sad isn't it?

I'll try my best though to post pics from the camera phone. Or from friends' camera. So my posts won't look dry like this summer season.

I'm cooking CP adobo for dinner :D

Enjoy the rest of the day!

    My Rice Cakes err Muffins

While washing the dishes and contemplating on what went wrong with my cheese and corn muffins...

M: My muffins became like rice cakes isn't it?
(Parang naging puto ung mga muffins noh!)

H: (seriously) At least you know how to make rice cakes now.
(At least marunong ka nang gumawa ng puto ngayon.)

I nearly cried laughing. He's trying his best to compliment me. HAHAHAHAHAHA! I felt his sincerity but it's just so funny. I can't laugh enough everytime I remember that scene.

    Oh I love my hubby!

Mommy Moments: Moving Up and In Any Direction!

My kids are definitely moving up, forward, sideward and in any direction. Always up and running from the time they wake up in the morning. So energetic kids.

One of the most significant milestone that my youngest son, Gabe has reached was when he graduated from breastfeeding to bottlefeeding. That was a HUGE relief for me. Not that it was a burden but breastfeeding him became challenging as he grew bigger, with only me to take care of the house. He still wants me beside him while bottlefeeding though. Coz he loves to toy with my lips and neck like a comfort toy.

Zach has moved up too from listening to reading on his own just before turning 4. First thing he learned in Math is reciting numbers to writing and now he knows how to do +2 in addition. The first day in school this coming school year is another moving up day for us!
