*hasn't outgrown his annoying habit of pinching my neck

*is slow-to-warm-up

afraid that he'll fall on the water if he goes near
Though he hits milestones day by day and he's obviously grown a lot, I still consider him a baby. I find his baby talking cute while hubby finds it awkward. Maybe because kuya Zach didn't go through this stage.

I want to cherish his babyness and the moments when he just suddenly leaps on me, hugs and/or kisses me and says, "I love you mommy!" If only I can stop him from growing. He's turning 3 on December 3. Time flies so fast! When he's grown, we have no more baby. waaahhh!

On the Top 5 Things Doctors Wish A Parent Do

For your baby:

Take care of those baby teeth.
Or even before they have teeth, wipe their gums and tongue with a washcloth before bedtime. You don't want bacteria playing around his mouth while they're sleeping!

I told my hubby before, it's just permanent teeth, why bother? I was glad that he fought for his belief that we need to brush the baby's teeth as early as they emerge. So they won't have to suffer from toothaches until those permanent teeth have served their purpose. Also now I realize, my son is confident coz he knows he has a nice smile.

For your toddler:

Persevere during food battles.
(I need to learn to be stronger on this one.)

"I wish parents would have the confidence to be the ones in charge during food standoffs," says Nancy Krebs, a pediatrician and nutrition specialist. Food jags are normal but it's still important to offer our kids healthy food and not only what they prefer. Remember that at this stage one day they love squash and some other day they won't.

For your pre-schooler:

Have two-way conversations.
We all know that reading aloud to our kids help in the development of their language skills. But chatting about what happened on the playground or in school gives them an additional boost.

Just observe when is the best time to talk to your kids. Some kids are fired-up to tell everything to their moms about school as soon as they get home. But I've noticed that the best time to talk to my son is before going to sleep.

MM: Blowing Bubbles

Like other kids, Zach and Gabe love bubbles. During bath time they hug their bodies and form a big bubble as they raise their arms.

Gabe dosen't know yet how to blow bubbles. So there's only a photo of Zach blowing bubbles.

This was taken in Manila Zoo last year.

Ogle October

October 2010 along with January 2010 are the longest months of the year with five Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. With that in mind, I'm overwhelmed.

Or maybe I'm thinking of the activities we have to attend to half of this month.
   (edited)
1. October 16. FIL's bday celebration in Manila.

2. October 20, 21 and 22. Zach's 2nd Periodical Exam. Review, review, review before the exam. I need to talk to Zach's teacher to excuse him on the 21st. And if he can take exams on Friday for the Exams on Thursday.

3. October 21. Bday party of nephew and dedication. I'll be a godmother.

4. Oct. 23. Zach's general rehearsal for Boy Scouts Investiture.

5. Oct. 25. Christening of a friend's baby.

6. Oct. 26. Zach's Scouting Investiture Ceremony.

4. Oct. 30-31. Marrieds' Retreat in Tagaytay. We've reserved rooms so no need for rv rentals.
At the back of my mind, I hear "I hope my mom and sis are free to look at the kids while we're in Tagaytay."

MM: Hairstyles

My sons' hairstyles are of typical boys. I'm afraid they might get irritated with hair gels. I want to try styling their hair though when they get bigger.

Zach @ 6 mos.
We used to tie Zach's hair into a ponytail coz it's getting to his face and he'll be scratching it. Many mistake him for a girl.

10 mos.
The hairdresser gave him a mohawk before shaving all his hair off. This was his first haircut.

Zach was 3 while Gabe was turning 1 yr. old here. They call them Doro. I usually just trim their hair. Sayang bayad sa barbero. hehe...

Just got from the barber look.

Now the trimmed look for Kuya Zach just before school started.

How To Put Image In Blogger Header

Being someone who didn't have formal schooling in web design, and has a hubby who is a web developer but doesn't want to help but is so busy, there's no other option but to use the blogger template designer. he just wants me to learn by myself. And I say it's rewarding!

Hubby first designed my blog but I wanted to have the header photos updated. I tinkered with the blogger templates and got a new design that I liked. Then I noticed there are lots who use the same template and design. So I redesigned it and discovered that I can put my own image at the header.

Here's how:

1. Sign in to Blogger and go to design tab.

2. You'll see "Header" and click "Edit."

3. Attach your image from your computer file or from a web link.

4. Choose where you want your image to be placed in the header. I chose mine "behind title and description." I also checked "shrink to fit" coz my image is too big.

5. Save and view your blog.

If you need to edit your image, you may upload your photo to Picasaweb.google.com. Click edit and you may crop, resize or fix your photos through the Picnik app. Attach it again to your blog header and voila! You now have a blog that you can call your own.

Blogger Template Designer

I'm so happy with my new design, template and header! I did it all by myself. Thanks to the new template designer by Blogger. Even inexperienced bloggers like me can easily custom-made their blog designs. All you need to do is choose your template, background and layout of your blog. You can also have the font and link colors that you prefer.

I discovered that I can put my own image in the header.  I'll tell you how I did it in my next post.

While Kuya's having fun.

Playing with Baby Dionne. He so loved the sand.

Big girls playing on the waves.
