Obviously, I feel happy coz we've been having date nights lately. Haba ng herr! 😃
Last year, the boys started to dislike grocery shopping. Sometimes, we even need to convince them to go with us to the mall. They prefer to stay home. So we tried to leave them at home for 2 hours. Fastrack, now, we can leave them longer like up to 4 hours. We're thankful that there's a mall 7 minutes away from our subdivision. And our village is quite safe. But still we remind the kids not to open the door except for us.
Why am I sharing this? Just want to encourage other moms out there who feel like there's no hope for another date with your spouse. Or a relaxing "me-time" is just pure fiction invented by beautiful minds. There's always hope lovelies! Wherever you are now, it's just a phase. Your kids will grow up...fast! Your finances will fall into place, someday, somehow. Listen, "me-time" or date nights doesn't have to be always grand. It's just that now, I and hubby have the chance to do it more special. Sometimes, movie dates at home (with our favorite chichiria) is enough for us. The important thing is that you're connected with each other. Wow marriage counselor?! Haha!
5 years ago, 8 years ago, I was where you are right now. Baby's puke, weewee, poop, baby's food, name it, they're all over me. Sometimes all at the same time coz I dont have time for a bath until hubby comes home from work at night. I remember one of those times, staring at my babies while they're both crying, not knowing what to do. If I should say this, "nakakabaliw talaga!" I don't know how I did it, not with my own strength, but here I am now. And my kids now, normal naman sila. Heehee!
Sorry, I'm being too chatty here. I just really appreaciate the now - that sleep isn't just a dream and bathing without the rush and taking care of myself and date nights are again part of my life.
So to all moms out there, just keep on. (Now this looks like a post-Mother's day post.) Whatever you're doing as a mom, I know you can do it coz you're a mom. And God's guidance is always beside you. You are not alone in this journey.
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. - 2 Corinthians 12:10God bless you lovelies!
