Banned From Internet Games

We decided to ban the two boys from playing internet or any video games.
At first, we gave them one hour each of them everyday to play internet or downloaded games in the laptop.  Later on, they won't stop when the alarm goes off. The other computer's internet setting will automatically be disconnected after one hour when logged in to guest. They will ask for another minute so we give them another 30 minutes to an hour sometimes. And later on became 2, 3 hours. But later on, we hear lots of whining and crying when we don't give them another hour to play. At a young they have addiction already. It's getting worse. So we decided not to let them play anymore. It's more than two weeks already.
Since then, they learned to be excited again to play with their toys. They look more normal kids than playing on the internet everyday.
Books are revisited once again which is better.
Kuya Zach would always ask if he can play the internet but we won't approve it.
Finally, last night the daddy approved to Zach's asking if they can play. But they will have to wait until the weekend.
On my part, I need to be firm for their scheduled time only. For everyone's sake and happiness.
Good day everyone!

We have almost the same experience with our boys. Well, we should be firm at times!

Same with my daughter. She's already addicted to games so now, we only allow her play on weekends. :)

Ditto. Good thing I was still able to control my daughter.

Same here.:( Just today I even banned all toys plus TV because he's too lazy to study. Surprisingly, he wasn't too heartbroken. Entertained himself by drawing and coloring. Maybe it's also our fault for introducing him to such things.:(
ang daming naaadik sa mga games na mga bata..

Our son is always excited to play video games on weekend (only for an hour or two) ...for he can't play video games and sometimes even watch tv during school days...this rule really helps him focus more on reading, doing his textbook and drawing.

As parents we need to be firm, and sticking to the rules and not bending it is one way we can help them focus on more important things...
You've done a good job, Jona...
For this problem, rules are very important and it must be strictly applied...
