In Three Months

Christmas will be here in three months.

In the Philippines, it's hard to think about Christmas when the people are cleaning up after Ondoy submerged in mud their homes and properties. And yet what's good about this is that it didn't happen on the eve of Christmas. There's still three months to count.

Christmas is a time to hope, to give, to love. Gifts will always be around during this holiday season. Not to be materialistic but to think about how you could make other people happy with a simple gift.

Children will always love toys but I could imagine how delighted my Zach will be with an awesome Aquasaurus.

I can choose between perfume or an aftershave for my hubby.

Flowers will really send love to my inlaws or my folks.

Praying for the recovery of the families who were greatly affected by Ondoy that they may see God's blessings after the storm until Christmas comes.

My eyes are shutting by itself...goodnight!

Glee and The Proposal

Finished Ep4 of Glee. I feel high school-young with this plot. Giddy yet not as how Pushing Daisies gave me sends-shivers-through-my-spine. Like how Pushing gave me a roller coaster of emotions every now and then with the weird characters. Not to compare, it's ok I'm done comparing. ehe =D

Still, waiting for the next episode.

Now The Proposal is a must-see for all of you hopeless romantics. giddy, funny, giddy, giddy! Time for a movie with a new plot and story.

Ondoy:Manila and Laguna

Most of our churchmates here in Laguna were flooded. Families were evacuated to church using innovated boats. So instead of a worship service, we had a relief service last Sunday morning.

We waited from morning til noon for them because brothers can't find a boat to rescue the children and volunteers living in the HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere) center as well as the family of disciples around the HOPE site. Thank God nobody was seriously injured.

I was just surprised that our lead Evangelist Koko Enrile who lives in a prominent village in Makati was also stricken by flood caused by Ondoy. Let's watch the video of his interview.

We're continuously praying for the missing brothers and sisters that they were not seriously harmed.

Also praying and grateful for the continuous beautiful sunshine.

Full of Glee

Hubby donwloaded a tv series for me. Not to while away my time coz i'm actually wishing I have lots of time to do lots of things. I wish I'd have some time to waste.

I've watched the trailer of Glee and I'm excited for it. If you love singing especially in a choral group, this will inspire you.

But now I'll share what gave me glee this morning.

I like TC 3:13 up to the last. This guy's good.

Just a small town girl
Livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere

Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice
Just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people

Happy Happenings

Awesome songleaders workshop! Aug. 29, 2009

Hubby singing with Tyrone Ty of "The Groove" band, one of our mentors. He taught us the "heart" of being a songleader in the church. "The better word than commitment is devotion." We are songleaders not to perform or to "show-off" our talents but to lead the people in worshiping God through singing.

Next workshop is on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009. Can't wait.

After the workshop at 5:30PM, hubby and I ran all the way to The Glass Garden, near SM Marikina to attend Joseph and Me-Ann's wedding. At last, after 6 years.

Sep. 7, 2009. My sister celebrated her birthday a day ahead since it's a holiday.

Sept. 8, 2009. My bestfriend in college is married at last.

Looking forward for the Metro Laguna Christian Church 3rd Anniversary on Sunday, Sep. 20, 2009.

Philippines Has Hope in Noynoy Aquino

I saw hope for the country as I watched yesterday on tv, the declaration of Noynoy Aquino's candidacy for President in 2010. WOOHOO!

The people expected Noynoy to continue his parents' legacy of truthful governance and service to the people. Yet he needed to sought the blessing and ask the Lord's will. And after the seven-day retreat was his people-awaited declaration. A man after God's heart, just what the Philippines needed. Yesterday's statement showed his own heart of honesty, sincerity, humility and love for people and for justice.

To the question what will be his campaign to abolish corruption and judicial injustice if ever he will be elected; I like his answer. He said that there's no need to change the country's laws. They are the best that even other countries look up to as a model for their own laws. We need to just push and utilize it for the good of all and not just the fortunate few. His answers during the Q & A made my eyes moist to really felt relief that there's still an unselfish people to rule the government. Not because he knows lots of things (he admitted that he still need to know about the needs of the Mindanao sector so to know how he could help them) but because he has the heart only to serve.

His speech didn't brag about any promises of so and so like politicians do. Nor did he enumerated his list of programs whatsoever. It was a statement that he is running to answer the cry of the multitudes and not of his own ambitions.

Hubby will vote for the first time next election. He's sure that his vote will go to someone who's worthy.

Last Monday...

Holiday last Monday. Friends want to go swimming so we offered our village clubhouse. Unfortunately the pool needed to be repaired and fortunately the village at the other side has a pool too.

Wanted: Eyeglasses

I have noticed a red blotch on my right eyeball that doesn't go away. It doesn't hurt but i'm a bit concerned and conscious. Especially when a friend noticed it too.

I suspect this is from my contact lenses. Couple of times I slept with them on my eyes. Too lazy and tired to take them off before I went to sleep. Though I don't wear contacts everyday I think I need to have a pair of eyeglasses so I won't need to wear my contacts all throughout the day. Would you believe these are $ 8 Rx eyeglasses?

My favorite high fashion eyeglasses look clean, simple and elegant.

Look at how you can start spending smart.
