HOT Tagaytay

If you want to go out of town but hates to go on a long travel from Manila, Tagaytay is the best place to go. We got the whole Botor family on a rented van and FX yesterday. It was traffic on SLEX but not quite as heavy as I expected that lots of people will be coming to the provinces on this holiday. And it's good we have a veteran driver to lead the trip. There was a bottleneck before reaching the famed "crossing" but we took a shortcut turning left to a street where Freddie Aguilar's bar was but is closed already. If we took the main road it would have been hours before we would've seen Taal Volcano and the lake. Tagaytay is indeed hot during this season of the year. Lots of people and cars are lined up to the Picnic Grove entrance. Thank God that's not our destination. Kuya's friend who lives around the area led us to the "Nature Camp" just about 1 meter from Picnic Grove. The place was not as big and activity-filled as Picnic Grove but at least it's a newer place to those who have been to Tagaytay several times already. I was surprised that there are swimming pools in this cold city. Mmmhhh...the smell of pine trees and the cold breeze. I felt like I suddenly stepped out of the Philippines.
Sight-seeing, picture picture and eating time first then changed to our swimming outfits. Zach wore his "American flag" designed trunks that his tita gave him. He enjoyed swimming despite the cold water. The second time he jumped to the pool wearing his "maong" pants coz he wasn't supposed to swim anymore but just can't help not to. After the swim we went down to the mini-forest where Zach was amazed by the "makahiya plants." It was his first time to see them and he touches all of them that he sees to make them shy down.
It was a nice and fun outing not to mention it's quite an unplanned one. If only I could bring some of the cold air back here in Manila. What we were able to bring home are of course Colette's buco pie, fruits like mangosteens, guyabano, avocadoes and pineapples. And it's always great when the family goes together.
Will post pics of our trip soon.
