A High Place: To All Moms (And The Not Yet Moms)

In my mind I have accomplished several things already. But in reality, those things are still waiting for me. Hello messy table. Hello sticky dishes. Hello stinky laundry, many of you should be in the suitcase bound to Sydney this weekend. (That's a different story coming up.) Hello dirty floor, I've managed to sweep a little while munching on my meatloaf sandwich, after the kids left but I think I need to mop you later, again, after I did yesterday. Hello thawing pork in a bowl, be ready before Gabby gets home for lunch. Hello muddy window blinds; I thought I wiped you already last Monday.
Maybe for you....hello presentation, the boss needs to see you, ASAP. Hello 100 calls waiting, I'm still trying to solve the concern of customer # 2. Or hello tired eyes, you've never had enough shut-eye that your eyebags have now become eye-suitcase, since the baby came.
Oh there's our poor dowgie. Hello Cloudy! You badly badly need a bath since the other day. But rest for now. Later I'll get to you, promise! Let's get to a high place first. God's grace is new every morning (everyday).
"Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found." - Psalm 119:35 (emphasis mine)
Wherever you are, whatever you're trying to do, whatever kind of mom you are- stay at home mom, taking care of others' kids to earn a living while you're thinking about your own kids overseas kind of mom, wearing high heels running after public transport trying to be home early for the family dinner kind of mom, or you're not a mom yet and you wish you'd be, we can all get through this. Because you are brave. Because God is giving us the power. Don't forget to thank him in prayer.

I can totally relate, as a mom 24 hours wasn't really enough to accomplish things to be done. But, exhausting and tiring as it is, it never fails to provide unbeatable joy and contentment.
