We sang Christmas carols and gave them some food. It's not even much. But kuya kept thanking us from the time we started singing until the time we left. He thanked us endlessly with tears rolling down his cheeks. I think this might not be the last time we're going to visit them. Hopefully, the land owner would still be generous to let them occupy a little space for their tiny shack til then. Among the 5 families that we caroled, they're the one I was touched the most.
It's not only Christmas that we can extend help and give a little spark of hope to people like them. It's not only when your church leader tells you to have such an activity that you can do something.
We had a simple and not fabulous or grand Christmas party in church. But this celebration was the most memorable and meaningful.
Thank you God for showing us your example of how to give when you gave Jesus to us. Happy birthday Jesus!
