How many of you agree with this? Great moms have sticky floors, messy kitchens, laundry piles and happy kids.
Count me in! :D
I believe that your children's happiness and well-being is the most important of all. Although it's all great to have shiny floors and kitchen sinks and clothes all crisp and pressed; we're not super humans and we aren't perfect. The home isn't the only thing we, moms need to get done.
I mostly get caught between tidying the kitchen and helping my kids with their homework. I end up having a messy kitchen when it's time for me to cook dinner and add another mess to the dirty pile of plates and utensils. But sometimes it's nice to just talk with your kids and hear about what happened in school that day. Just to see how their eyes brighten when they tell of amazing new discoveries. Even though those things aren't new to you anymore.
When the kids are smaller, hubby was always mad at me and the boys because the house was a mess. But things have changed and he said well, where else do you want the kids to make a mess? He realized that he wanted the house to be more of a refuge for the kids. It's a place where the kids are themselves. And that the home is a place to learn. The kids learn by playing and messing with their toys and cut-outs. Kids grow up and still they make a mess. But now they know how to clean up their own mess. Hubby learned to tolerate the kids' mess and the boys know that they should put away their toys and stuff when we tell them it's time to do so. We've now come to a sense of balance. Hubby now understood what I've been meaning to tell him all this time. Whew! :)
Yes, it's great to have a clean house. And kids are happy too to come to a clean home (only to mess it up again teehee :)) But if your house turns into a mess, it's perfectly fine. Your children are happiest with your hugs and your kisses when you just talk and sit beside them.
So, what can you say about this photo?
