Chickboy Is Better

Winter and I went to Central Mall yesterday after going to Kumon Center. I told our service not to fetch us coz I plan to stroll in the mall and scout for gifts for upcoming birthdays that we'll attend to. And buy some abubot for me. (got my blogging money from paypal YEY!) Sorry to say, but honestly, I enjoy shopping more without my hubby. Can you relate? Honey, if you're reading this, peace! Heehee :D

Any way, I've heard good about Chickboy so I decided to try their food. As you step inside the resto, you would immediately remember Mang Inasal with the smell and the ambiance of the surroundings. So please don't blame me if I have to compare.

I ordered Pecho part coz it looks big in the pic. And it's true in person. The soup tastes way better than Mang Inasal's. It's the first time I've seen my son gulp soup from the bowl til the last drop. The chicken is more juicy, meaty and right to the taste. Above photos show our 2nd serving of rice and the murdered pecho. My son can't wait for me to feed him. Chicken barbecue with iced tea and unlimited rice costs P115. Worthy enough.

I just hope their food and service would stay the same.

New Sundae Varieties At McDo

After Winter's Kumon last week, we visited the long been missing McDonald's.
Have yoU tasted the new varieties of Sundae and McFlurry at McDonald's? I was most intrigued with Hot Fudge-Caramel Sundae? The combination of the choco fudge and caramel on vanilla sundae was delicious. A new treat for your taste buds.

We all loved it of course. The daddy ate til the last drop.
Kuya Zach still loved the McNuggets as ever.

Which treat do you love at McDo?

Winter Was Comfy At F Salon

Yesterday I came back to F Salon to have my treat as I told you. While having manicure and pedicure, Winter had his own treat too. He slept soundly in the very comfy seat beside me. He woke up just in time when I'm done.
Result of my mani and pedi is over at my other blog.

2011 United Nations Day Celebration

wacky
I won't be able to go to Zach's school for their United Nation's Day Celebration coz I need to go with Winter to Kumon. It's not mandatory to wear a national costume, only if you have one. A national flag of your choice is required though. He's carrying a flag of Sweden that his dad made last night.

Family Time: Movie Time Saturday

Usual Saturday after grocery is movie time with matching Clover chips. Winter requested for Zookeeper. This is the 2nd time we've watched this movie.
Zookeeper is a movie for the whole family. Very light and wholesome. It's a funny movie esp. the animals.
The story is about being true to yourself. We can't change people but we need to learn to love them for who they are. Incidentally in the movie, these lessons were taught by the animals.

Bathing A Bunny

I gave Caramel a half-bath. I was tempted to because her paws were soaked in her weewee. I just washed her butt, legs, paws and chin. I was being tempted to bathe her completely but she looks so pitiful already.
I just let her air-dry. Excuse me people. I didn't intend to post this for halloween okay.

From what I've read, rabbits don't need a bath. Bathing eliminates the natural oils in their fur, which is significant for their survival. It may catch pneumonia in the absence of their natural oils and may even die after bathing.
If necessary you can clean its fur by using using a cloth dipped in a little white vinegar. Wipe its fur with the wet cloth and then dry it again with a clean dry cloth. Never never dry her in front of a fan.
Don't worry Caramel, I'll save up for a decent cage so you'll stay clean and dry. We gave her a box for her litter but our whole house has become her litter box. heehee :D

Scouting Investiture 2011

Been out of the house lately so I need to catch up on the never-ending house chores.  Sadly, blogging has to wait.
Scouting Investiture of my son Zach, is one of the activities we attended to last week. He's now a Kab Scout.
I'm glad to see that the school is improving. The multi-purpose hall is now being constructed. And they put animal statues at the school premises.
Winter still has his babiness. He thought the animals are real. He didn't want to touch the murals at first, afraid that they might move.
Last attempt, he tried to touch it hehe :D

Remembering Microtel Boracay and Swimming Pool

This was the view from Microtel, the hotel where we stayed in at Boracay last August 2010.

The hotel is a walk away from the beach. But we had a dip at the pool instead when it drizzled. The water was also good. I didn't notice where their sand filter and pool pumps are. But I think they have those to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the pool water.

My son expressed how good it was to stay at the hotel. He loved the bed, the pillows, the blankets and the bathroom with a tub. The water felt good on our skin when we rinsed. I guess they use equipments like salt water chlorinators to diminish the acidity of the water.

My son was sad when we had to leave the hotel.

Mommy Moments: My Favorite Gadgets Might Be Yours Too

First thing in mind is my BFF - LG Automatic Washing Machine. I never would be able to wash our soiled clothes even with the regular washing machine. You know the RHD mom gets tired easily. Imagine a dirty laundry of my son's white shirts, jeans, curtains, blankets and occasionally, the pillows. I do all these separately. But still it's really impossible for me to do laundry without my BFF. Because of my "matic," I had entirely opted out hiring a household help. Saves me from a bunch of headaches, emotional investments and money. tsk ;)

Next is our poor laptop whom my son Winter had watered. Thank God it still worked but needs a desktop keyboard now haha! Even if it looks so pitiful, I'm thankful for it, coz I can't be online without it. Uhm, I was about to say, my favorite is hubby's a MacBook Air. How I wish it's mine. Well I'm wishing for an iPad!

For our photos, I love using Nikon D7000 and Prime Lens. Every capture looks really fantastic using this cam. With a motored body, it's easy to achieve clear photos because of the automatic sensor. Again, hubby is borrowing i'm borrowing from my hubby hehe :D

As for my beauty products, I love Neutrogena Fine Fairness Range until it lasts. I got it last year from their promo on facebook. Surely I can't afford to buy them from my own pocket. My skin loved these products from the night cream, facial wash, toner, brightening serum, mask, etc. It made my skin lighter and feel supple.

And because I can't afford Neutrogena, I'd go back to my original since I was younger, Pond's White Beauty Products for my face. It evens out your complexion, brings moisture and protects your skin from harmful light. And it's cheaper but effective. Moms we need to take care of ourselves!

As I've always told you, I can't go out of the house without lipstick on. I use Maybelline Moisture-rich lipstick but with the fall of the economy, hehe :D, I switched to Nichido. Lipsticks really bring life to your face even without complete make-up on.

I could go on and on so this is enough for now :)

Happy Mommy Moments!

Shopping Online? See Reviews And Feedbacks

Have you tried buying products online? Me, haven't.

I tried to shop for books at Amazon but unfortunately, they don't ship in our area.

I'm quite not that confident at shopping online. Maybe because I don't have an experience yet at buying online. Though, my hubby has bought several photography equipments already posted from forums and auction shops. The only difference in buying online is that you don't get to touch and see the durability and the materials for yourself. Though product descriptions were stated by the seller. But all in all, the deals were great! The products were true as to what was posted in the websites.

When buying online, I guess it's safe to read about reviews on a specific product that you're buying. This is to be able to know if that product has the specs in of your requirements. It will also be helpful to read reviews about the auction shop just like dealfun.com reviews. Some sellers don't ship in good condition as opposed to what was specified in the product description. And others even vaporize after receiving your money. So when it's not a popular shop or it's your first transaction with the company, it'll be best to ask around in forums and make a little background check.

Cried Over His Pet Bunny

Zach cried when we told him that Oreo is gone.

As expected, he looked for Oreo first thing he went home from school. Winter told him that their daddy burried him on the ground. He thought that his brother was just joking. And when I talked to him and told him that his pet bunny died, he cried asking me about what happened. He felt pity on Oreo. And he misses him so much. Even I was teary-eyed as I watch him cry over his pet bunny.

I promised him I'll buy him another bunny. And he wants one that looks like Oreo.

Goodbye Oreo :(

Yesterday upon arriving home from school, Zach immediately looked for Oreo, his pet bunny. Both of them were excited to be back in each other's arms again.

But later, I don't know how to break the bad news to him that Oreo is gone.

When I checked them this morning, Caramel twitched her ears but Oreo is already lying lifeless. Poor bunny.

I fed them baguio pechay leaves that was given to me by the woman at the vegetable store last night. Maybe it has pesticides. That's the only suspect I could think of. Though she said that's what she also feeds her bunnies.  But maybe, Oreo's still too baby to be able to tolerate any harmful chemicals in that veggie.

Hay! Hope we could get a new friend for Caramel.

Oreo And Caramel, Our Pet Bunnies

Announcing the new members of our family - Oreo and Caramel
Zach have been wanting to own pet bunnies. And I told him we'll get him one if he has good grades. The boy made his promise true but the mommy can't due to our family's present economic state.

But thanks to lolo and lola for thoughtfully fulfilling the promise.

We first called these bunnies, Blaster and Hurley from G-Force movie. And then, their lola told us they're a boy and a girl. So I thought of naming them Angie and Brad. But because they're my kids' pets and not mine, Oreo and Caramel, as their color suggests, won the name battle.

This is our first time to have real pets at home. Remember that my son Zach was bitten by a stray cat when he was 2 years old and then by a dog the next year.

It's our first time to take care of rabbits. Thank God there's google to search about rabbit care, food and some important facts about rabbits.

Kumon Program Winter Update

Winter is now on the third week of his Kumon Reading program. He started at the lowest level, 7A, as he doesn't know how to read or write yet.

Per level is composed of 200 worksheets. He has finished 170 worksheets already.

So far, Winter is very much excited about his studies. After breakfast, he initiates to study his "take home" worksheets.

Level 7A follows the "I say," "You say," "We say" method.  He would go through his worksheets again anytime of the day. I don't need to read the words to him as he's memorized most of the words already. Sometimes before he sleeps, he reads his worksheets again.

I think the "good job" stamps he receives from Teacher C during the class is one factor why he's so motivated.

I hope his level of excitement doesn't fall on the coming worksheets where he needs to study writing the alphabets.

So far so good :D

Wednesday Whites: Haircut At F Salon

Thw whitish surroundings of F Salon is just relaxing and refreshing.
The hairdresser was happy to give Winter a haircut as he's very behaved on the parlor seat.
They first thought that Winter is a girl.
Before
During
After

It's my turn next time. Tell you the truth, I'm excited.

It's double the price of the current beauty salon that I go to. (But still David's is the pricey one.) But it's worth it for the pampering and pleasure that it could give a stressed mom like me :D

Today's Menu: Kare-Kare

Have been craving for Kare-Kare so I tried to cook one. For the first time!

I don't know the English term for this dish. Is it Pork in Peanut Sauce?

Sorry I don't know how to do the presentation. But it looked like Kare-Kare in person :D. And I was glad hubby was enticed to eat it. Or else there's nothing else for his lunch hehe. He just opted out the Barrio Fiesta Bagoong and matched it with fish sauce instead. And he liked it. Yey!

Pinoy Explorer On TV5

image from tv5

Pinoy Explorer is one of the few programs in local tv that I let my kids watch. It's informative and entertaining at the same time.

For three weeks already, the topic in this exciting tv series is about dinosaurs. Pinoy Explorer promises to take viewers to places around the world to find out about Science, Geography, and natural wonders of the world.

My kids' eyes are glued to the tv every after commercial gaps. Same with mommy's eyes. Aga Mulach is ageless!

We look forward for Pinoy Explorer every Sunday, 6:30 PM on TV5.
