Mommy Moments: Black & White

The first thing that really came to my mind was the black and white photo effect. So I edited the photos. LOL!
Last Thursday (Holy Week), we went to Batangas at my in-laws' family. The two boys at both sides are our kids, Zach and Winter. Baby Lionne carried by Zach is the youngest son of hubby's twin bro. Next is Dionne, hubby's twin bro's son. In the center is Daniella, hubby's sister's daughter, the only girl among the cousins so far.
The place is really so apt for family photos. So we took the opportunity before we left.
Check out other photos with black and white theme at Mommy Moments.

Super House Boy

Last Saturday, hubby did a whole lot of cleaning here in our house. He grabbed the broom from me when he saw me sweeping in front of our house. Then he took the sofa set out of the house and washed it. It's filled with different kinds of elements accumulated over time like sweat, saliva, vomits, spilled juices and food,
He then decided to clean the ceiling which should have been cleaned long before. After all, he's soaking in sweat. And of course the floor was dirty from his cleaning the ceiling so he cleaned the floor too (like a Floor contractor). He started cleaning in the morning and finished at 7 in the evening.

Thanks Honey! The following day, he's suffering from body aches. Choink!

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: 17 Again

I'm linking up TCP with this blog from now on. Or til further notice haha! :D You should know now fickle-minded I am.
The topic for this week is Age-swapping movies. Haven't watched any movie with that theme. But I'm interested in this movie called 17 Again. It stars Zac Efron (17 yr. old Mike O'Donnell) and Matthew Perry (37 yr.old Mike O'Donnell). I want to find out what will Mike do if given a chance to be 17 again. How is he going to cherish the life that he once threw away? Will he be acceptable to the youth of today which includes his kids?

Let's find out in my next couch session. Happy watching!

Mommy Moments: Birthdays!

This was last December 2011, Winter's 3rd birthday. Notice Winter watching Jollibee's every move if he'll move closer. This is the closest he ever got with Jollibee coz he's so afraid of mascots. He's about to cry in other photos. We just try to console him and divert his attention. Thanks to the toy helicopter that he received as a gift.
Last July, we celebrated Zach's 5th birthday. We went to Nuvali for a birthday treat. This photo was the third time (and cake) he blew a candle for photo purposes.

Now I realize I need to take photos of me and hubby in our next birthdays ;D

We've Been Kidnapped!

As hubby said when he got home last night and there's no one to give him a welcome back home kiss. My in-laws fetched us yesterday morning and went to my sis-in-law's house. Three kids were enjoying playing inspite of occasional love and hate episodes.

graduation gift from Tita Kitts - Backyard Safari Outfitters Field Gear Explorer Kit
a spy glass, a magnifying glass, 3 carabiners, and a field guide
The gears were in good use on the way to the playground when Zach and Dani went out.
Winter was so engrossed playing Nick Jr. so mommy needed to stay home. I watched tv to kill boredom. Thanks to lola for Winter's mango milk shake mustache haha! :D
pancakes, hotdogs and milk for breakfast

The inflatable pool still gave the three kids, sooo muuuch fuuun swimming, even if it needs to be pumped from  time to time.

Now they're retired for a geeewwwd sleep.
We're just waiting for them to wake up for us to go back home sweet home.

Mommy Moments: Summer Plans

We have no concrete plans yet for summer vacation.

It was a good first school year for Zach. So we're taking things slowly from when summer has started. We want him to just enjoy the vacation.

As of now, they spend time watching children's videos and movies. Zach especially enjoys drawing on the unused pages of his notebooks. The challenge is for me to make them occupied all the time. Whew!

Last Saturday, we had a date with our bestfriends. We enjoyed chatting while the kids explored the grounds of Nuvali.

From time to time we go to the playground which is just a few steps away from our house. Here they were this morning.

Hope we can go out of town this vacation.
Visit Mommy Moments to see what plans do others have for this summer.
Enjoy!

Hello Hello What A Surprise!

Yesterday morning...
I thought the mail man's shouting "Hello!" to me. But when I peeked through the window, I saw my nephew, then my folks coming out from the van. They're not complete as my 3 sisters are at work. Nevertheless, we were happy for their surprise visit.
This is my Mama and baby Jake, my eldest sister's baby. Peek through my December post to see how big and bungisngis he's grown.

With his Ate Alex

It's very easy to make him smile :D
Of course, Zach, Winter and LJ played all the time that they're here.

They went home early as Papa doesn't want to encounter much traffic. I wasn't able to convince Papa to visit Nuvali as he wants all of us to be coming. I'm now looking forward for that trip this coming holiday. *smiles*

Send SMS Thru Gmail For Free

I was surprised this morning to see something new at my gmail sidebar. You can now send SMS right from gmail to a Smart or Suncel mobile number. For FREE! Or while you're checking your email you can send a text message at the same time.

Is this another first from gmail? Not sure. But I believe they're the first one to incorporate chat and even a video chat from your email through Gtalk.

Among email hosts that I've used, gmail is the best for me. Not a paid post alright. I was just happy for this innovation.

Nursing Scrubs Have Evolved

So funny of me. Mentally, I used to call them assistants' or nurses' uniforms. So pathetic. Recently, I learned that they're properly and better called nursing scrubs. Haha! :D

As I jump from one hospital to another for my children's pediatricians and my cardiologists, I have observed how these scrubs clothing have evolved. I can't resist noticing that through the years. Before, they look cold and plain. A look matched by old hospitals with smell and feel that makes your tummy squirm. But now I see elegant scrubs worn by nurses and medical assistants. I didn't think that uniforms can be as fashionable and classy! I would want to wear them myself.

From the pedia's clinic, some of them wear cute scrubs with their favorite cartoon character designs. The clinic's environment looks more friendly with that. It might help you feel more relaxed when you see that the one who will get your blood sample wears fun scrub tops.

Mommy Moments: Little Achievers

As I've shared previously, Kuya Zach is moving up to elementary level. In their school, the top ten students are called "Achievers" and he's one of them. *smiles*
Winter, the 3 yrs. and 3 mos. old, on the other hand is now more interested in learning. He now loves reading books. I or his kuya reads to him. He loves to sing and dance. He likes educational shows like Your Baby Can Read, Super Why and Little Einsteins. Oftentimes, he imitates the words being said in the shows, the songs and movements. He can now pronounce the letters "F" and "V" haha :D
We did one small, small step to weaning. Winter now uses a training bottle. It has a spout nipple and looks more like a mug than a baby bottle. He likes to eat more so he drinks milk lesser - 2 to 3x a day.
I also look forward to the day when Winter won't need diapers anymore. As of now, he still needs them whenever he's asleep. Sometimes he wakes up from his afternoon nap to weewee but sometimes not. Poor sofa :( So I just put on his diapers to be sure.
Even though you give me head aches...I love you my little achievers! XOXO
I'm sure you, mommies out there are also glad for your kids' achievements. Join us at Mommy Moments.
