The Father's Love

I was touched with the preaching last Sunday so I want to share some of it.

A mother and a child are walking hand in hand.
Their hands tighten as they see strangers and fast cars passing by.
As they go through a dark tunnel, the child tightens his grip some more.
Passing by a toy store, the boy is fascinated and loosens his grip.
As they walk some more, the child becomes bored and tired and soon loses his grip.
The mother has kept holding onto him.

The Father holds our hand the same way. He just keeps on holding our hand no matter what happens - when we're feeling fine, when we're happy, when we're troubled, afraid, tired, and crushed. And even reaches out to us when we feel like we want to evaporate from this world when we're guilty of something.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39 (emphasis added)

My reflection today...
"Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the LORD your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity."
-Joel 2:13

God's love is incomparable, sometimes overwhelming. No matter what we do, he still loves us unconditionally. All we need to do is to go back to him every time or always for that matter; because we always fail. What he wants is for us to offer our heart that is pure and not our money or any other property. I want to learn how he loves: "slow to anger and abounding in love."
